Home Remedies for Acidity


Acidity can be quite a common problem in today’s life as we all have our own bad eating and bad eating habits. There are various causes behind acidity problems which have various symptoms for different people. One of the main acidity causes is overheat in a person’s body caused by bad eating habits. These include eating lots of rich and spicy food, eating inappropriate amount of chilies, fast eating, stress eating, not enough or not proper sleep, alcohol consumption etc.
The symptoms of acidity include heartburn (burning sensation in stomach), throat dryness, unbearable stomach pain, coughing, frequent hunger, chest pain, constant pain in upper abdomen, vomiting, formation of ulcer and acid reflux (acid coming up to the throat).
You can avoid stomach acidity by controlling your diet, quit smoking, reduce alcohol consumption etc.
Here are some home remedies for Acidity (tips on how to cure stomach acidity at home):
1. Drink two glasses of warm water every morning before breakfast.
2. One of the useful remedies of for acidity is consuming a few leaves of Tulsi anytime of the day.
3. Amla jam is quite helpful to acidity problems. You can have it 2 to 3 times a day to control your stomach acidity.
4. Take two tablespoons of honey with natural cidar vinegar before every meal.
5. Do not stay hungry and eat in smaller proportions. For example instead of having three big meals, have 5 small meals in a day.
6. Acidity is also caused by anxiety and depression. You should try to stay active and exercise everyday as it will help you.
7. Some of the most useful home remedies include the following: -
  •  Amla – Amla is not only helpful for acidity, but is cures diabetes, indigestion and heartburn. There are Amla capsules available which are very helpful. You can take it with warm milk, pulses or vegetables.
  • Mint – Mint juice or its capsules are very good herbal remedy for curing acidity. Mint works instantly against acidity. If you have acidity problems, by drinking some mint juice you can see its effect instantly.
  • Cucumber, watermelon, papaya and banana are some of the fruits which are very helpful in curing acidity.
  • You can also drink cold milk, coconut water or eat almonds or raw garlic to get some relief from the heartburn and acidity.
  • One of the most effective home remedies for acidity is considered to be butter milk. You can have it with some coriander juice to make it even more effective.
